What is Orenda?
Orenda is not a boat typically found in Canadian Waters and thus rarely experienced by most people. Unlike a traditional sailboat, a trimaran which has 3 hulls has an incredible amount of deck space to move about on.
The boat has been modified with the construction of an outdoor dining section seating up to ten people.
Bathroom facilities onboard, Electric Head (toilet)
Fusion Stereo with outdoor speakers and Bluetooth
Composite construction of wood and fiberglass
Engine: 38hp Diesel Beta Marine Engine
500 Watts solar power with inverter providing off grid AC power
Safety Equipment includes 3 fire extinguishers, 12 flares, full medical kit.
Designer: John Piver
About the name ORENDA
Orenda is the name of a book written by Canadian Author Joseph Boyden. It is a Huron/Iroquois term meaning The Spirit In All Things. There are three elements associated with ORENDA; faith, hope and gratitude. As the boat has three hulls I liked the physical association. Most of all, being on the water and sailing is when I feel most connected and grateful to all the elements in my universe. If you join me for a sail, then perhaps you also will be fortunate to experience the Spirit in all Things.
